Not Respectful at all, Actually...

I have noticed lately that I have been getting emails using the closing "v/r" - and I had no idea what this meant. There were many minutes wasted thinking of possibilies: virtual regards, valiantly real, violet red, violent rage, victoriously right, etc....

Finally, I decided to check everyone's favorite slang reference guide, Urban Dictionary. Turns out that v/r means "very respectfully."

So is born another form of laziness, abbreviating the really not hard to type words "very respectfully" to the completely disrepectful "v/r." Ah, oxymorons!

w/e,
(what to the ev)

Totally agreed. That's about like having your e-mail signature start with "sincerely". I hate that. You aren't always sincere. As in:

Would you pick up Steak Out for lunch?

sincerely,
Hillary

And then have the nerve to abbreviate it?? Ugh!
